Fragmentology

Fragmentology is the, “study of surviving fragments of manuscripts”.[1] I wasn’t able to find it defined in any prominent dictionaries, and I think this is due to it being a relatively new field of research. As of now, it is believed to have begun in 2014 with Christoph Flüeler’s Fragmentarium. This research project ushered in the “Age of Fragmentology”.[2]
