The Sources for Biblical Publications

The majority of Bibles today are fundamentally dependent on only 6 sources.

I have a list of over 100 different publications of the Bible here. The main sources for them are:

1 – Jerome’s Latin Vulgate, which began to surface out of obscurity in the 15th century.

2 – The Codex Vaticanus, which surfaced out of obscurity at the end of the 15th century.

3 – Erasmus’ 1516 Textus Receptus.

4 – The Masoretic Text, which began to surface out of obscurity in the 16th century.

5 – Martin Luther’s 1534 Bible.

6 – The Codex Sinaiticus, which surfaced out of obscurity in 1844 when noticed by Tischendorf.
